Where Maple cars collect their dents
Park at Maple GO before the 7:15 and your car spends eleven hours alone in a lot where every neighbour is rushing a train. Door-edge dings on the rear doors and quarter panels are the signature souvenir, and because nobody leaves a note, most of them get paid out of pocket. The plaza rows around Major Mackenzie and Keele produce the shopping-cart version — a shallow crease at bumper height on the rear quarter — while the drive-through lanes add the occasional pillar scrape.
The rest happen at home. Maple’s double driveways hold two cars, a basketball net, and in winter a hockey net dragged in from the court — and the geometry eventually fails. Tailgates meet netposts, door corners meet garage framing, and a reversing second car meets the first one at 5 km/h. Small hits, but the crease they leave catches sunlight from thirty metres, and on a leased vehicle it is money owed at return time.
Fixing the metal, not hiding it
A proper dent repair starts with reading the metal. A soft, shallow dome in the middle of a door behaves differently from a sharp crease along a body line, and a steel panel behaves differently from the aluminum hoods and tailgates showing up on newer trucks and SUVs in Maple driveways. We work the panel back to shape from behind where access allows, finish the surface, and refinish only when the paint has been stretched, cracked or scraped — which, with creases and door-edge hits, it usually has.
When paint is involved, the repair is only as good as the match. The refinished area is blended into the surrounding panel and, where needed, the neighbouring one, so the repair has no visible border. What you should never accept — from us or anyone — is a skim of filler and a rattle-can blend; it looks fine for a season and shrinks into a visible ring by the second summer. Small damage deserves small logistics
Most dents do not justify an insurance claim, and we will tell you when yours does not. If the damage came from a hit-and-run in the GO lot and you do want to claim it, we open the file with your insurance company and handle it start to finish.
Single-panel dent work is short-stay work. Many Maple jobs drop off in the morning and come home within a day or two, and the evening hours — open until 7 PM, Monday through Saturday — mean the pickup run down Keele fits after the commute rather than instead of it. Sundays we open by appointment for drivers whose week has no other gap.
